Wellness Centre Future Proof (WCFP) is a performative and installation-based project that uses notions such as "wellness", "wellbeing" and "lifestyle" to create transmedia situations in which the audience is invited to undergo "treatments".
The proposed treatments are however not at all typicall wellness formats, but are ranging from audio-guides and -walks over filmscreenings ("visual baths") and graphical representations to performative lectures and cooking sessions.
Wellness Center "Future Proof" is an inherently artistic project, but operates on the border of reality and fiction. It is ultimately rooted in storytelling.
Important narratives derive from a mix of typical wellness vocabulary, non-antropocentrism and a culture that is embedded in nature, not oposed to it. WCFP is a proposal to debunk late capitalist consumerism as a vector for climate emergency, and neo-liberal individualism as the origin of a highly alarming state of the wellbeing of live on this planet. "How can I be well when the world is sick?"
WCFP is not a tacticical analyses of what is to be done, it is however a place via which the creative imagination of a regenerative future is sparked.
